The Kalinago Territory offers unique attractions such as L’Escalier Tête Chien, gorgeous waterfalls, and many opportunities to hike around the area.
L’Escalier Tête ChienL’Escalier Tête Chien features in the Kalinago origin myth. It is a natural staircase rising out of the Atlantic Ocean. According to legend, it is the path left from an enormous boa constrictor (tête chien) as it made its way out of the sea to establish the first Kalinago village. |
Isulukati FallsThis lovely waterfall is located at the Kalinago Barana Autê. You will need to purchase a Site Pass to access this site. In addition to its serene environment and spectacular vistas of the Atlantic coastline, the water cascades into the mythical Mermaid Pool at the base of the double tier waterfall. |
Madjini PoolJust a short hike from L’Escalier Tête Chien, you will find Madjini Pool. Kalinago legend has it that a mermaid lives here, under the rock in the pool. Refresh yourself in this beautiful spot. |
